Drake takes the first turkey of the season for the BareBones Crew! With Kent and ol dad running the cameras we headed to the bluegrass state for Ky's youth season. We worked one bird at daybreak but I think he had some hens and they didnt w...ant anything to do with us. We were walking down a trail when I heard a hen yelping about 80 yards fom us. We were deciding what to do when 4 or 5 gobblers hammered right there with the hens! We had no choice but to get down fast! I crawled out about 10 yards and place a hen decoy and crawled back. A little turkey love talk later and a big gobbler was strutting by the decoy. Drake leveled off and let him have it with a 3 1/2" load of #4's at 18 yards. Awesome hunt! Will be a great hunt for the video. Things can sure change quick in the spring turkey woods. God definitely had a hand in another great day in the outdoors.
